Welcome to Big Session (in a few days at least). We are now on site busily putting it all together and making it look magical. We are so pleased you could be part of this first year on our new site at Catton Hall. It really is a special spot sandwiched between the National Forest and the River Trent. Take a look at how the site will look...
We have a packed full programme of music and more so get ready for a busy few days of top class entertainment. Have a look at the timetable here...
If you want more detail on all the great artists and things happening at Big Session then get yourself a Souvenir programme from the box office on arrival.
The new Big Session T-shirts and Caps are here with us and look beautiful. Pick yours up as well as all your favourite artist CD’s at our Merchandise stall on site. There will be plenty of artist signings and chances to say hello on the day.
We still have tickets available so if you want to bring a friend or introduce someone new to Big Session and really make it a special gathering then book tickets here.......
Join us on Facebook and/or Twitter and keep up-to-date with what’s happening during the Festival, share your pictures and experiences and then stay part of the Big Session community all year round.
Just a few reminders before you set off....in case you missed them.
Chairs......if you want one bring one!
The Big Session venues are principally standing and dancing venues. Best for atmosphere and more flexible! They are all on lovely flat grass so feel free to bring blankets and indeed your own camping chairs if you want to sit down.
Glass
Please feel free to bring bottles on to the Campsite to have with your dinner but please don’t bring glass onto the Show Site. There’s plenty of recycling points for your glass on the Campsite when you are done.
Dogs
We welcome well behaved dogs to the Campsite. They must be kept on a lead at all times but are not allowed on the Show Site. Dogs for people with disabilities are permitted to all sites.
Campsite
Our Campsite is a stunning piece of English countryside and has nice clean toilets and hot showers. Please be sensible with space, make friends with your new neighbours and look after the Site.
Cars
We have loads of FREE parking so please make use of it. Cars are allowed onto the campsite to unload and set up but then need to be removed to the Car Park. Keep valuables safe either in your car or use our lock-up facility at the Box Office.
Litter & Recycling
We try very hard to recycle as much as possible from Big Session. Please use the bins properly. Mixed (but clean) recyclables in one (Paper, Cardboard, Plastic) Glass in another and then when your’re sure it can’t be recycled put food waste and other bits into the landfill bin (let’s keep this to a minimum eh?)
Transport & Hotels
If you really have to bring a car then no problem, but you can come by train and then bus if you fancy going green instead. We have a great bus service running all weekend to and from the station in Burton as well as the specified Festival hotels.
