We’re BIGGER…BETTER…AND MORE GREEN, that’s the message from The Big Session Festival, which takes place at De Montfort Hall and Gardens, Leicester. It has received the overall prize for 2007 in the ‘Greener Festival Award’ category presented by UK Festival Awards. Now in it’s fourth year the 2008 festival promises to be the best yet with more music, bigger stages and more music sessions.
Set in De Montfort Hall & Gardens, the Big Session Festival this year not only features the cream of the Folk World but so much more, top confirmed acts so far include: Bellowhead, Cara Dillon, Devon Sproule, Kila, Lau, Oysterband & Vincent Vincent and the Villains.
After sell-outs in 2005, 2006 & 2007, the Big Session Festival has been branded as the Folk Festival with a twist. Early-bird tickets are now on sale at the special price of only £55 for an adult weekend ticket before the 1 March 08.
For regular line-up updates and announcements take a look at the new website www.bigsessionfestival.com
Full line-up will be announced early in the New Year. As the previous festivals have all sold out getting your ticket early will save you money and guarantee your ticket.
There will be three stages bigger than in previous years (indoor, marquee and proper music sessions) – camping – real ale tent – international food & craft stalls – children’s events and of course we’ll be watching our carbon foot print!
